A Stroll Along La Seine

Monday, 29 September 2014

This was the last day of our short trip and we had no major plans other than to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. We were all still on a high from the concert the night before so we decided just to wander.
We stopped at the famous love lock bridge. Unfortunately none of us had a lock so we just took picture instead.
After a quick ramble past the Notre Dame (the line was too long to go inside) we started in the direction for Musee de L'Orangerie.
We had to pass through Tuileries Gardens where the loungers and the sun were so tempting that we made a quick detour for ice cream and a nap.
Our last stop was Angelinas, it's a must for any Paris trip.
Unfortunately we didn't have much time to enjoy it, we had to head back to the hotel to grab our luggage but we managed to pick up some macaroons to bring home and a sneaky takeaway hot chocolate. Then it was time to head home and say au revoir to Paris until next time!

Beyonce, Beyonce, Are You Happy To Be in Paris?

Wednesday, 17 September 2014

Today was officially Bey day as far as we were concerned. When we heard Beyonce and Jay-Z were bringing their On The Run tour to Europe we decided we had to go and today was the day. The morning papers made us even more excited!!
After a quick croissant and coffee breakfast, we headed for a stroll around The Musée du Louvre. One of my favorite things about Paris is the museums and galleries.
After the Louvre we went to Palais Galliera, The City of Paris Museum of Fashion. The exhibit was 50's Parisian couture, it had designs from all the major fashion houses Dior, Balmain, Chanel and Givenchy. Unfortunately there were no pictures allowed but I swear the pieces were amazing.

Our last stop before we got ready for the concert was the Champs Elysees for a quick bite to eat and some shopping.
The concert was amazing they played for over two and half hours and we danced the entire time. I only have some blurry iphone pictures but I love this one! It was so exciting to see them together live.

Vintage Hunting in Paris

After an early start we began our first day in Paris with a stroll through a local farmers market.
Then we stopped for the prettiest ice cream I've ever seen outside the Pomidou Center.

After ice cream and people watching we headed towards the vintage stores. Marais, the area we were in had tons of vintage on offer. It's a bargain hunters dream.
After snooping through the rails I was lucky enough to find a gorgeous winter coat. A long snugly camel coat in a crazy little cramped store called Free P' Star. Delighted with my new purchase we made our way over to the Eiffel Tower.

For dinner we had a picnic, baguettes and brie from the boulangerie. The Eiffel Tower lit up as the sun set and we relaxed for the evening watching everyone go by. It was the perfect end to a perfect first day in Paris.
