The Gap of Dunloe

Monday, 11 January 2016

Ever since last September I've been dying to get back to Kerry!

Unfortunately work and the long drive had stopped me until now.

Ruairis birthday in June gave us the perfect excuse to visit.
Before our adventure began we had a delicious breakfast in our hotel, The Aghadoe Heights Hotel.
After breakfast we pulled on comfy clothes and went in search of Ross Castle the first stop on our adventure.
We were kindly given bikes from the hotel so we cycled in to Killarney town
where we got our bus tickets for O' Donoghue's boat tours.
The boats take you around Killarney lakes and last around an hour and a half.
At the end of the boat tour we headed off with our bikes to cycle the Gap of Donloe.
The Gap of Dunloe is a winding road between two mountains.
The cycle seemed easy enough but we may have had to stop
more than once to take in the scenery.
Cycling down the other side of the mountain was much easier and so much fun.
Overall the whole day was brilliant and it was so nice to see some of the
most amazing parts of our little island.
I would definitely recommend the boat and bike tour
for any one visiting the ring of Kerry.
