The Souk Marrakech

Marrakech, Morocco has been on my list for some time now.
I could not have been more excited to go explore.

Our first stop on route to the souk was Koutoubia Mosque, the largest in Marrakech.

Before heading to the souks we went to the Berber markets.
Were we visited an apothecary that had herbs, spices to cure every ailment.
It's hard to describe the souk, it feels like you've entered Aladdin's cave.
There's a  huge stretch of market stalls covered in silver trinkets,
spices and leather goods.  It's a maze and it goes on and on and on.
There is so much to choose from and you can haggle for everything.
The whole place is a feast for the senses the smell of the spices is amazing.
I had a Carrie Bradshaw moment when I bought a pair of pointy shoes in the Souk.
(Shortly after I learnt Sex and The City 2 was actually filmed in Morocco not in Abu Dhabi)
We finished off the day with a traditional Moroccan feast at Chez Ali Fantasia.
Chez Ali was recommended by the hotel but we found the food was disappointing.
We did have fun though and the building did have some incredible tiling.
